For the fact that this place started my tea obsession, I'm giving it 4 stars. I went here on a summer trip. In the morning I was met with the friendliest man which served me English breakfast tea (to die for) and eggs Benedict. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I came back later and was not met with such a pleasant atmosphere. I ate some fish and chips which were decent and ordered some of my favorite English breakfast tea. Over an hour later I still had not gotten it. There were people there, but to wait an hour? It wasn't THAT busy. Needless to say, I left without my tea even though I payed for it. Not too happy with that. Overall, I do recommended trying this place, but maybe in the morning!

We elected to meet at this place because it was near Victoria station. I would recommend finding somewhere else (there are other places a few blocks away that are infinitely better).
The tables were sticky, the menus were in a similar state (I tried to switch with another and it was in the same state). You had to order at the bar (not horrible), but the bartender didn't even understand the drinks that they had written on the board for the evening.
We did have some nachos while waiting for the other members of our party and they were wonderfully pulled out of a warming oven.
Move on and pick somewhere better. -

The food was delicious and was my first experience eating a steak & ale pie which was fantastic. Boyfriend got the fish and chips which I don't eat but I tried a bite and it was really good and the batter was perfectly crisp. For not liking fish, I would consider ordering it for myself it was that good. The three stars is for the lack of service. I'm not sure if it's customary in the UK and if we just aren't used to it but we had to go to the bar to ask for menus and to order our food and a drink while we were sitting at a table.

We were seeking out meat pies as part of our London experience. This was an excellent choice! I had a pie with duck and my girlfriend had a pie with short rib beef. Both were delicious! Actually one of the best meals we had in London!

We were staying in Pimlico and really liked the atmosphere, nice pint and fish and chips. Watch out for the out of circulation bills that they stick you with for change. We should have picked up on it, but we were rather jet lagged. We gladly gave it back the next night for our tip on the tab.
